Afzal Ahmad

I am Research Fellow at the Multi-Robot Systems lab in Czech Technical University in Prague, Czech Republic. I have been working on multi-robot coordination for high speed flights in cluttered environments. My work in supervised of Dr. Martin Saska.

I graduated with a Master’s in Artificial Intelligence from the Czech Technical University in Prague in 2022. During my masters I have worked on decentralized control of multi-UAV systems under the supervision of Dr. Martin Saska. My masters thesis focused on investigating multi-UAV trajectory planning with limited to no information sharing among the UAVs.

Prior to this, I obtained a Bachelor’s in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati in 2019. As an undergraduate researcher, I worked on simulating a swarm of ground robots at the MIST lab, Polytechnique Montreal, Canada.

I have reviewed articles for IROS 2023, ICRA 2021 and 2023, ICUAS 2021 and Bioinspiration & Biomimetics journal.

Nov 1, 2019 My work on UAV swarm in forests got featured in IEEE Spectrum Video Friday.
Aug 1, 2019 Started working as a Research Assistant in the Multi-Robot Systems lab, Prague, Czech Republic.
Jul 1, 2019 Graduated from IIT Guwahati.
May 1, 2018 Awarded the Shastri Research Student Fellowship for undergraduate research at Polytechnique Montreal, Canada.
Apr 1, 2018 Awarded as the Best Managing Secretary among technical student clubs at IIT Guwahati.
Apr 10, 2016 Won the Internet of Things Hackathon organised by Bolt IoT.
Aug 1, 2015 Joined the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati as an undergraduate.
